Witchcraft from the Corners: Candle Prosperity Spell

Today, let's delve into the enchanting realm of green candle spells, a wonderful way to attract wealth and prosperity into our lives. As a practicing witch who uses this spell often, I’m excited to crack open my Book of Shadows and share this one with you.

Choosing the Right Candle

Begin by selecting a green candle. Green symbolizes growth, fertility, and, in our context, financial prosperity. If you do not have a green candle then I am a big fan of “the universe works with and understands us more than we realize” so if you have a blue and yellow candle, hey that can work, too. In a pinch, I use a white candle and draw money symbols on it with a tack.

Setting the Intention

Before lighting the candle, take a moment to center yourself. Focus on your intention for wealth and prosperity. Visualize your financial goals with clarity, allowing the energy to flow through you and into the candle. Some have even said to picture money flowing into your wallet/bank account/pockets. Whatever visualization works for you.

Anointing the Candle

To enhance the candle's energy, you can anoint it with a prosperity oil blend. You can create your own by combining oils like cinnamon, patchouli, and bergamot to a carrier oil. Currently, I have castor oil on hand so that would be the one that I grab from my cupboard! As you apply the oil, envision it as a magnet drawing financial blessings towards you.

Carving Symbols

As I mentioned previously, you can carve symbols representing wealth and abundance onto the candle. Common choices include dollar signs, runes for prosperity, or personal symbols that resonate with your financial goals. If you have your own sigils or regularly create them then you can really get personal. More on sigil creation later. Carving the symbols helps imprint your desires into the magical workings.

Charging with Crystals

Surround the candle with prosperity crystals such as citrine, green aventurine, or pyrite. These crystals amplify the spell's energy and provide an additional layer of attraction to your intentions.

Candle Placement

Place the candle in a sacred space where it won't be disturbed. This could be your altar, a dedicated prosperity corner, or any place that feels spiritually charged. Ensure the environment is calm and conducive to magic.

Casting the Spell

Light the candle with focus and intention. As the flame flickers, speak your affirmations of wealth and abundance. Feel the energy radiating from the candle, connecting with the universal flow of prosperity. You may experience goosebumps or shivers as you tackle this step. I always take that as a good sign.

Gratitude and Release

Express gratitude for the abundance that is already present in your life. Release any doubts or fears regarding financial matters, and believe me, I know how hard that can be. Especially given the current economic environment. There is something to trusting that the universe is aligning to fulfill your desires.

Candle Disposal

Once the candle has burned completely, back in the day the advice would have been to bury the remains in the earth, symbolizing the planting of seeds for future prosperity. Alternatively, you can keep any leftover wax as a talisman, a reminder of your ongoing journey towards wealth.

If you want to burry things in the earth, remember that we want to be mindful of what we put into the earth so dispose of any components that won’t break down naturally in the trash—with respect and thanks—while any organic and non-pollutant components could theoretically be placed in the earth. Personally, I dispose of most of the things in the trash after leaving them on my altar for a set amount of time.
